Commercial video is a great market tool for any business. Businesses today are looking for new ways to market themselves, but unless they are buying TV commercials, we think they don’t often consider video. There are a lot of ways that commercial video can be used without doing television commercials. And it can cost much less than traditional advertising.
Here are a few examples:
Shoot video of your customers giving client testimonials. Prospective customers many times want to know what other people think of a business before they patronize it themselves. That’s why online review sites are so popular. They want reassurance that a business is good before they spend money there. Seeing positive testimonials from a customer’s business is a sure-fire way to let them know that they can trust this business themselves. Many businesses use testimonials, but they most often are written. You don’t often see businesses videotaping their clients give testimonials. That can be much more powerful.
We recently worked with a dental office that asked several clients to come into the office to give a video testimonial. We made some videos for the office that are suitable for their website, their Facebook page and other forms of social media.
Testimonials aren’t the only way to promote a business. Consider making a commercial style video that promotes your products and services. We are presently working with a tree service company that wants to put videos on its website that promotes its services and offerings. Words do one thing, but moving pictures do a much better job of outlining what a business can do for potential customers. Consider videotaping your services in action, showing potential customers what you do and how it will benefit them.
Sometimes all you want to do is educate people. Videos can do a great job doing just that. Perhaps you are a business that wants to educate people about a particular topic. This can work great for nonprofit organizations, service organizations and similar groups that want to tell people about a particular topic or cause.
You have all seen blogs, but how many video blogs, or vlogs, have you seen? Consider videotaping yourself verbalizing a topic of importance and put that on your website and social media.
Videos can be done any number of ways. They can be serious or they can be funny and entertaining. It’s up to you what you want. The sky is the limit.
There are numerous ways to market your business. Why not consider video. There’s a good chance your competition isn’t doing it. It is affordable, easy and fun to do. Commercial video is a great way to separate yourself and stand out in a competitive market.
